The Restaurante and Sidrería Barkaiztegi is a point of reference worldwide in traditional Basque cuisine with seasonal dishes in the capital of Guipuzcoa. For good reason, the Irizar family has owned it since 1930 with a highly varied selection of cuisine.
Barkaiztegi has a restaurant open year-round, as well as a cider house where sagardoa—natural Basque cider.
The vast menu is always based on high-quality seasonal products, selected by the family themselves.
Located in a rural setting, five minutes from the centre of Donostia, Barkaiztegi is also one of the few traditional and family-owned cider houses still standing in San Sebastián.
Based on generations of experience, Barkaiztegi has modernised its facilities, all while preserving the traditional means of preparation. The sagardoa al txotx-directly from the barrel- is only open in cider season.
